We would like to extend a personal invitation for you to join us on the morning of March 3 for a roundtable discussion on employee ownership. The recently established Employee Ownership Network at the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade has identified access to capital as a primary need to support the growth of employee-owned businesses in Colorado.

It is estimated that 50,750 businesses are owned by baby boomers in Colorado, generating sales of $81.7 billion, employing 419,700 people and providing a payroll of $16.2 billion.  Succession planning and conversations about shifting ownership to their employees is critical for the continuation of job stability and business services throughout Colorado.

The federal 2018 Main Street Employee Ownership Act has opened Small Business Administration lending to both Cooperatives and Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOPs). It has also created a mandate for Small Business Development Centers (SBDCs) across the country to explore how they support employee ownership.

We invite you to participate in the conversation on how the banking community can play a vital role in the expansion of employee ownership in Colorado. This session can be accessed in person or via webinar.  Please see the below for the full agenda on March 3rd.
