US bank regulators propose derivatives capital standard

The Federal Reserve, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. have proposed a capital standard for derivatives trading to address risk-taking and US banks' capital demands set after the financial crisis. Under the proposal, banks with assets of at least $250 billion would need to change their method of calculating advanced approaches to the standardized approach for counterparty credit risk. Read more.
