Analysis: How scrutiny of leveraged loans could affect banks

Indications from Federal Reserve banking regulator Todd Vermilyea and others that the Fed may take a harder line on leveraged loans could affect US banks that trade in them. However, European counterparts such as Credit Suisse, Barclays and Deutsche Bank would feel a greater impact if the US leveraged loan boom slows, as such loans constitute a larger share of their investment bank revenues.
