Senators may offer alternative plan on credit bureaus, data privacy

Aides for Sen. Mark Crapo, R-Idaho, and Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, say the two are considering their own data privacy legislation related to credit bureaus after reviewing proposals by House Financial Services Committee Chairwoman Maxine Waters, D-Calif. The Senate bill would be more narrowly focused, they say.
