Improvement at banks leads to fewer MRAs, regulators say

The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency is issuing less criticism that rises to the level of "matters requiring attention" as financial institutions implement high-quality anti-money-laundering programs, Comptroller Joseph Otting says. Only 1% of banks examined by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. were facing formal action, and that number has halved, says Lisa Arquette, associate director of the Division of Risk Management Supervision.
