Fed study: Post-crisis liquidity rules helped banks profit

Dodd-Frank Act liquidity rules that encouraged banks to hold a greater proportion of their portfolios in liquid assets played a role in the recent increases in bank profit, according to a study by the Federal Reserve. These liquid assets include commercial and industrial loans that typically have floating interest rates that adjust quickly to the Fed's interest-rate hikes, the study said.
