CFPB fines mortgage company $1.75M for "intentional" HMDA errors

Some loan officers at Freedom Mortgage intentionally reported erroneous information about race, ethnicity and sex on data required by the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act data from 2014 to 2017, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau said. The mortgage company was fined $1.75 million.
